Introduction
In this section we introduce you to you First Aid for Knife Attacks course, and explain how it works. This course is aimed at giving you information so that if you come across someone with a knife injury, you know what basic first aid to do before the emergency services get there.
Knife Crime First Aid
In this section we start by talking about scene safety. We then talk you through calling the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and what to do while waiting for them to arrive. We will explain to you whether or not you should remove the knife, and applying direct pressure. You will learn more about improvised tourniquets, the recovery position, the critical injury pack, and both trauma and haemostatic dressings.
